Rosalia

Rosalia Vila aka Rosalia is the Spanish flamenco and pop performer. As a teenager, she has worked both in traditional and popular music. But, her musical interests have expanded to include hip-hop and soul. Pepe Haichuela, a flamenco guitar and renowned musician has described the sound of this young artist as sassy and sweet and grit. El Mal Querer was her major commercial and critical breakthrough in 2018. The single Los Angeles garnered her attention and earned her a Latin Grammy Nomination for Best New Artist It also topped the Billboard charts of Latin Pop Albums and she received an Grammy. In 2021, the single La Fama with The Weeknd came out. Motomami is her third album, featured songwriting collaborations between Cory Henry and James Blake. The release date was March 20, 2022, in the wake of the live performance on Chicken Teriyaki by Saturday Night Live. Rosalia is the first Spanish artist to have performed alone on the popular program. Motomami was the only woman in the history of music to be a recipient of the Latin Album of the Year twice, as well as three Latin Grammy Awards.
